Before going into its fourth generation, the third-generation Porsche Cayenne has been given a facelift with rather comprehensive updates. Making its world debut at Auto Shanghai 2023, the Porsche Cayenne facelift introduces more luxury and more performance.

On the outside, the Porsche Cayenne facelift has evolved ever so slightly, with sleeker looking headlights and subtle changes all around. Now standard on the Cayenne is a set of high-definition Matrix LED headlights with more than 32,000 pixels per headlamp. Its brightness can be regulated in more than 1,000 steps depending on the driving situation.

At the front, the grille and vents are now bridged by a black trim, making the Cayenne appear visually wider. As for the wheels, Porsche says there is now an extensive range of 20-, 21-, and 22-inch wheels for customers to choose from.

At the back, the Porsche Cayenne sports 3D taillights which have become part of the brand’s new look. The rear plate number has been moved down to the rear bumper, creating a cleaner lower apron on the tailgate. Besides that, the Cayenne facelift also gets 3 new colour options.

As for powertrain options, there are 4 powertrain options with Europe only receiving 3 of them. The powertrain options include:

  • 3.0L V6 turbo engine (Cayenne)

  • 4.0L V8 biturbo (Cayenne S)
  • 4.0L V8 biturbo (Cayenne Turbo GT, outside Europe)

In its entry-level form, the Cayenne is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine that outputs 353 hp (metric) and 500 Nm. This engine is also the base for the hybrid powertrain of the Cayenne E-Hybrid which outputs 470 hp (metric). The hybrid Cayenne gets a 25.9-kWh battery that provides 90 km of pure electric driving range.

The 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine in the Cayenne S replaces the previous V6 engine. Making 474 hp (metric) and 600 Nm, the Cayenne S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds onward to a top speed of 273 km/h.
