Soon the join MINI’s all-electric line-up is the MINI Countryman, and it makes history for a few reasons. The first is that it will be an all-electric shift for the Countryman model. It will also be MINI’s first all-wheel-drive (AWD) electric vehicle (EV). Lastly, the electric MINI Countryman will also be the first MINI to be made in Germany. Still shown in camouflage for now, some specs of the electric MNI Countryman have been revealed.
While the car is still heavily camouflaged, MINI has revealed that the MINI Countryman has grown in size. It is now 130 mm longer at 4,429 mm and almost 60 mm taller at 1,613 mm. The increase in size provides more space (including headroom) and comfort for its occupants.
The main highlight of the specification reveal would be the powertrain and EV details of the MINI Countryman. So far, MNI has revealed that there will be 2WD and an AWD version of the MINI Countryman. The 2WD version is called the ‘MINI Countryman E’ which makes 140 kW (191 hp). The AWD version is called the ‘MINI Countryman SE ALL4’ and it gets a dual-motor setup that makes 230 kW (313 hp) including a temporary boost.
As for the battery, the electric MINI Countryman gets a 64.7-kWh battery, which is a rather average capacity by today’s standards. MINI says that the battery can provide approximately 450 km of range, although the test cycle for the quoted range was not mentioned. It was also not mentioned if the range was for the ‘E’ or the ‘SE ALL4’.

Materials used for the electric MINI Countryman are also more environmentally friendly. The surfaces of the dashboards, steering wheel, vehicle headliner and floor, and floor mats are made of recycled polyester obtained from PET bottles and carpet remnants. Even the cast light-alloy wheels are made from 70% secondary aluminium.
Besides the introduction of the electric MINI Countryman, the electric MINI Cooper SE will soon get an all-new revamp and the car has already been sighted without camouflage several times. The MINI Countryman will be a fully electric model in its upcoming iteration.
