In March 2023, UMW Toyota Motor recorded 9,136 cars sold with 9,026 of them being Toyota models and 110 being Lexus models. In terms of quarterly sales, UMW Toyota sold a total of 25,219 cars in the first quarter of 2023, its highest-ever registered sales for a first quarter.
The 25,219-unit year-to-date sales figure in 2023 is 12% higher than the 22,447-unit figure in 2022. Monthly sales are slightly down in March with 9,136 cars sold compared to 9,297 cars sold in February 2023.
UMW Toyota Motor also launched the all-new Toyota Vios in March, a premium evolution from the previous generation. Only available in two variants, the all-new Vios costs RM89,600 for the Standard E variant and RM95,500 for the range-topping G variant. The all-new Vios comes with a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Besides announcing its sales performance, UMW Toyota Motor has also taken this opportunity to announce its tree planting event which is under the UMW Green Shoots Initiative. The event was hosted by the Malaysian Nature Society at Tanjung Tuan, Melaka. Up to 6,100 trees were planted by 250 volunteers made up of staff volunteers, students and teachers from University Putra Malaysia, Serdang and Politeknik Port Dickson, Taylor’s University, and members of the public.
In conjunction with Ramadan, UMW Toyota Motors has announced a promotion on selected models worth up to RM 8,000, 100% loan financing, and a Toyota Service Savers promotion with monthly installments from as low as RM22.
