Malaysia Book of Records awards “Fastest Sepang Lap” to 6 BMW owners – 2:20.549 in an M4

Six Malaysian BMW owners have recently received Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) titles. The award was presented at the M4NTAP Track Day held at Sepang International Circuit last weekend.

Organized by the Malaysian car club, M4NTAP, over 50 BMW cars gathered at the international circuit where approximately 700 members of the public also gathered for the festivities.

The Six awarded titles are:

  • Fastest 1M/M2 – Jay Choong; F87 BMW M2 (2:22.154 s)
  • Fastest Naturally Aspirated M3 – Adi Fansuri; E92 BMW M3 for clocking (2:26.743 s)
  • Fastest Turbocharged M3/M4 – Hisham Jaffar; F82 BMW M4 (2:20.549 s) – also fastest BMW around Sepang Circuit
  • Fastest Naturally Aspirated M5/M6 – Aaron Kow; E60 BMW M5 (2:33.007 s)
  • Fastest M5/M6/M8 – Mohamad Heikel; F90 BMW M5 (2:37.674 s)
  • Fastest Non-M BMW –  Adil Adnan; F30 BMW 330i (2:31.674 s)

BMW M GmbH celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and has debuted many new and exciting models as well as special edition models to commemorate its Golden Jubilee. Among this year’s debut by BMW M GmbH include the all-new BMW XM, the BMW M2, the BMW M3 Touring, and the “BMW M50 Jahre Edition” of the M3 and M4.

The event and MBOR award ceremony organized by M4NTAP coincides perfectly with the year’s occasion. In September, BMW Malaysia and the “M Owners Malaysia” club organised the largest BMW M gathering.
