To encourage and motivate more women to take part in motorsports, Morac Go Kart Track 1 Utama and Leona Chin together organised “The Pink Stuff SODI Ladies Cup” go kart championship. Exclusive to women, this special competition is the first of its kind.
Round 1 took place on October 1, 2022, at the Morac Go Kart Track at 1 Utama with the support of the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM). The tarmac track measures 420 meters in length and consists of 17 corners.
The championship is open to the public and consists of five catgeories – “Expert”, “Novice A”, “Novice B”, “Media”, and “realme Celebrity”. A total of 44 participants registered for the first round of the championship. Prior to the race, the participants were given a 10-minute practice session and a 5-minute qualifying session. The participants battled it out in a 30-lap long race.
Finishing first in the “Expert” category was Nurul Auni Nasharuddin followed by Latun Fatin Lyana and Wan Farrahrunissa. The podium for the “Novice A” saw Coleen Tan in first place followed by Siti Nor Aminah and Najwa. Emerging victorious in “Novice B” was Siti Khadijah, followed by Putri Razana and Anness Chua.

Besides the real-life karting action, the racing also went onto the virtual world where Raceroom Simulators prepared two simulators. Commenting on the successful event at Morac Go Kart 1 Utama, Leona Chin said, “I’m very glad to see the spirit and level of competition shown by the participants, and we hope that we can inspire more women to come out and give motorsports a try!”
