Hybrid Honda Civic e:HEV RS now open for bookings – 184 hp, 315 Nm, key card entry



Starting today, you can place your bookings for the new hybrid variant of the Civic, the Honda Civic e:HEV RS. The latest addition to the Honda Civic line-up introduces a new 2.0-litre e:HEV powertrain for the first time in Malaysia, making 184 hp and 315 Nm.

Compared to the Honda Civic RS, the e:HEV RS packs an additional 2hp and 75 Nm. Paired with the hybrid powertrain is Honda’s Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT). The electric drive unit in the hybrid system is referred to by Honda as the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU). It is powered by a light and compact lithium-ion battery.

Tell-tale signs of the Civic e:HEV RS’s hybrid powertrain on the outside are blue elements on the Honda emblem, a chrome trim on the front grille, an e:HEV badge on the boot lid, and e:HEV RS-specific 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. All else, the e:HEV RS is similar to the existing RS variant.

Convenience-wise, the new Honda Civic e:HEV RS gets a Key Card which according to Honda, is a segment-first. The key cars introduces a compact and convenient keyless entry and start function. Other notable features in the e:HEV RS are the 9-inch Advanced Display Audio with Wireless Apple CarPlay and the Remote Engine Start feature.

Honda Key Card

Standard on the Civic e:HEV RS is the full suite of Honda Sensing. The full suite of enhanced and newly improved Honda Sensing safety features includes the following:

  • Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Auto High Beam (AHB)
