Video: A purposeful morning drive to an Orang Asli village, with Leona Chin – AutoVlog

We’re car guys. But still, we’d usually prefer to sleep in on Saturday mornings instead of going out for “weekend drives”… for the most part. But this particular morning was a little different – because not only did we get to see and drive some very cool cars, we also get to do something a little more special – giving back to the people in need.

When GC received the call to join the Drive of Hope, he immediately did what he knew best – gathering up the best battalion (in this case, a BMW X7, plus Malaysian motorsports athlete and friend of, Leona Chin) and off he went.

The line-up of cars that attended the Drive of Hope included our BMW X7, two Range Rover Autobiographies, Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Levante, Land Rover Defender, G-Wagen (plus a Brabus B700 too!), Range Rover Velar, Bentley Bentayga, as well as a BMW X5.

If you’re wondering why they’re all SUVs, well, that’s because the terrain to get to the destination – the Kampung Ulu Lakai Orang Asli settlement – actually needs some proper all-wheel drive muscles.

So what did we actually do at Kampung Ulu Lakai? Watch the video above to find out! Be sure to stay until the end as there’s a very special ‘world premiere’ that you wouldn’t want to miss. 😉
