Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has just delivered its 100,000th Triton pick-up truck here in the country, and to commemorate the occasion, the company has given away 100,000 km, or up to RM27k worth of diesel to lucky customer number 100,000 – Muhammad Faerus, a solar panel installer.
The Triton has long been MMM’s bedrock in terms of sales numbers. In 2021, where the company sold 17,489 vehicles, the Triton accounted for 53% of the company’s total sales, which helped the company maintain a market share of 22% in the segment despite the pandemic and healthy competition from its rivals.
“Our Triton customers come from all walks of life- business owners, off-road enthusiasts, and lifestyle users. Over the years, with Triton’s improved technology and functionality, it has inspired owners to take on challenges and push the boundaries in creating an exciting life journey, while fulfilling their dreams and ambitions,” said MMM CEO, Shinya Ikeda.
“We would also like to extend our appreciation to the strong commitment of MMM’s authorized dealers and business partners, as well as gratitude to the Malaysian government and media friends that have spurred Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia to achieve this significant milestone,” he added.

In conjunction with the celebration, MMM is also organising a promotional campaign dubbed “100,000 Triton Ambitions Contest”, to reward four more lucky Triton owners with 25,000 km (or up to RM7,000) worth of diesel each.
All Triton owners are invited to participate, and all you need to do is to fill up a contest survey form and submit a photo in either one or all four categories below, starting from 14 September onwards:
- The Stylo King – owner’s most memorable leisure activity with the Triton
- Tough Champ – owner’s toughest experience with the Triton
- Extreme Adventurer – owner’s most memorable long-distance journey with the Triton
- Mod Hero – owner’s coolest modified Triton
