Video: 2022 BMW i4 in Malaysia, from RM389k – 5 Things

Based on the G22 BMW 4 series Gran Coupe, the all-electric BMW i4 is the closest thing you can get to the China-exclusive BMW i3 sedan in Malaysia for now. Debuted earlier this year, the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport fetches a price of RM389,800.

Virtually unrivalled in Malaysia for the time being, the BMW i4 is powered by an 83.9-kWh battery, capable of 590 km of driving on a single charge (WLTP). As for performance, the maximum power output is rated at 340 hp while the maximum torque is rated at 430 Nm. All power is sent to the rear wheels, capable of launching the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

Design-wise, the BMW i4 proudly features the “beaver grille” that looks similar to the one on the BMW M3 & M4. Other exterior highlights are the M Sport body kit, BMW Laser Lights, 19-inch M Aerodynamic wheels, and M Sport brakes.

Inside the cabin, the BMW i4 gets BMW’s signature curved screen that spans across half of the dashboard. It combines two screens – a 12.3-inch infotainment unit (with BMW iDrive8 Operating System) and a 14.8-inch digital meter cluster.

Also worth noting are the 17-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, 3-zone air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging.

Introduced as a single variant in Malaysia initially, the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport is now offered alongside the much more powerful BMW i4 M50. Launched in May this year, the M50 fetches a price of RM430,800.
