Video: Fully-electric BMW iX3 SUV from RM298k, 5 Things

Blink and you’d easily mistaken the iX3 for a BMW X3 because they look so identical but in fact, they’re anything but.

For starters, the iX3 is purely electric. With a rear-mounted electric motor, effectively making the iX3 rear-wheel drive, it produces 286 hp and 400 Nm. 0 to 100 km/h takes just 6.8 seconds although top speed is limited to just 180 km/h.

Power is supplied by a 73.8 kWh battery that can be fully charged in just 30 minutes using a 150 kW DC charging, or 7.5 hours using an 11 kW AC Wallbox charger. If you’re conservative with the throttle, you could enjoy up to 461 km of electric driving range.

The iX3 is available in two variants; the ‘Inspiring’ and the higher-end ‘Impressive’. While they may both be dressed with M Sport body kits, the Impressive gets the BMW Laser Light technology to power its headlamps, along with larger 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels.

The Impressive is also more impressive on the inside; differentiating itself from the Inspiring variant with a head-up display, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera, and driving sound composed in collaboration with Hans Zimmer.
