Video: 2022 Perodua Alza 7-seater MPV launched in Malaysia, from RM62,500

After 13 years of service, the Perodua Alza is now finally getting an all-new replacement model for 2022. The seven-seater MPV will be offered in three different variants here in Malaysia, starting with the X at RM62,500, moving up to RM68,000 for the H, and RM75,500 for the range-topping AV variant.

Despite being based on the Toyota Avanza , Perodua has given the all-new 2022 Alza several unique design touches to differentiate it from the Toyota model. These include the vanity grille infront with chrome detailing, as well as exclusive bumpers and alloy wheel designs.

In terms of equipment, all variants get fully-LED headlights as standard, with the H and AV variants receiving the sequential turn indicators as the cherry on top. Wheel sizes range between 15- and 16-inches in diameter, depending on the variant.

Also standard across the board is the powertrain, with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine shared between all variants. Power output is rated at 105 hp and 138 Nm, with drive sent to the front wheels via a dual-mode CVT (D-CVT) gearbox.

More importantly, all variants are also equipped with Perodua’s latest ASA 3.0 advanced driver assistance system, with features including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure prevention, front departure alert, as well as automatic high-beam. The more advanced features, including SAE Level 2 autonomous emergency driving capabilities, are reserved only for the range-topping AV variant.
