Video: 2022 Nissan Serena S-Hybrid facelift launched in Malaysia, 5 Things

Nearly three years since it made its debut in Japan, Edaran Tan Chong Motors has now finally brought the facelifted C27-generation Nissan Serena here onto our shores.

The new 2022 Nissan Serena in Malaysia starts at RM149,888 for the entry-level Highway Star variant, and moves up to RM162,888 for the Premium Highway Star variant.

In terms of appearance, the main bulk of the exterior change is found on the front fascia, headlined by a new, larger ‘V Motion’ grille. The new menacing grille is flanked by redesigned bi-LED headlights with a chrome horizontal insert, while around the back, the taillights are also reworked for a taller appearance.

There are also new bumpers both front and back, with additional gloss black trims for a sportier appearance while matching the new blacked out 16-inch alloy wheels on the range-topping variant.

Changes inside are a little more subdued, with the main updates being the larger 9.0-inch infotainment display, a larger 11.6-inch roof-mounted rear entertainment screen, and premium quilted nappa leather (in black or brown), all three are exclusive to the Premium Highway Star variant.

The main star of the facelift here is actually hidden in its safety equipment. Both variants of the 2022 Nissan Serena facelift in Malaysia now comes with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility ADAS suite, with standard features including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitor, rear-cross traffic alert, and driver attention warning.
