Honda previews the SUV RS Concept at the Indonesia Auto Show 2021

The latest addition to the expanding line-up of Honda crossovers and SUV has just been unveiled at a world premiere event in Indonesia, as part of Honda’s presence at this year’s Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

Called the Honda SUV RS Concept, the small SUV which shares many styling elements with the larger Honda HR-V seems production-ready at Honda’s main stage, albeit with some tweaks to the lighting units for actual on-road performance.

Based on the smaller look of the Honda SUV RS Concept, it looks like Honda putting the pair of Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize in the target crosshair. This small SUV segment also has the Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnet, which are smaller than the Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks.

No interior shots have been shared, but upon closer inspection, the Honda SUV RS Concept seems to differ from the larger Honda HR-V with four visible door handles and a door pillar-mounted side mirror.

Indonesian drivers still love rowing their own gears, as such, the new Honda City Hatchback RS pairs its 121 hp DOHC iVTEC engine with six-speed MT!

The tail lamps replicate the full-width design seen in the Honda HR-V. Not much information has been shared regarding the concept model.

Being developed in Thailand, there is a strong chance the production model of the Honda SUV RS Concept made available in Malaysia, challenging the only offering in the segment- the Perodua Ativa.
