This is the fastest pick-up in the world, the 1,012 hp Hennessey Mammoth!

Texas-based high-performance car manufacturer Hennessey has revealed that production of the world’s fastest and most powerful pick-up, the Mammoth 1000 TRX, is set to begin production.

Based on the Dodge Ram 1500 TRX pick-up, Hennessey has taken its 6.2-litre supercharged V8 and squeezed out 1,012 hp and 1,314 Nm. Standard output was only 702 hp and 881 Nm. As such, 0 to 100 km/h only takes 3.2 seconds, a full 1.3 seconds faster than the standard truck, and is almost as quick as the most powerful BMW in production.

Achieving this has been no easy feat. The engine compartment in particular had undergone significant upgrades to now include a high flow supercharger system, high flow injectors, upgraded spark plugs and thermostat, to name a few.

Founder and CEO, John Hennessey said, “The new Mammoth 1000 TRX is the most powerful pickup truck that Hennessey Performance has ever offered. We’ve already sold more than 100 trucks, with each answering one big question – why have a 1,000-horsepower pickup truck? Because we can!”

Aside from providing the standard truck, customers are expected to spend up to USD$150,000 for the standard truck to turn into a Mammoth 1000. The package includes custom front and rear bumpers, an LED light bar, a front levelling kit, exterior badges and 20-inch Hennessey wheels, with tyres. Customers can also upgrade to larger 37-inch tyres.

Following the modifications, each unit will endure 300 km of road testing and comes with serial number plaques. The Hennessey Mammoth 1000 will be limited to just 200 units.
