Hennessey Exorcist is a demon-chasing 1,000hp Chevrolet Camaro

How do you create fear from a car? Is a 1,000 hp muscle car sounds scary, or does naming a car after a cult horror movie sends shivers down the spine? How about combining both? Here’s one example, the 1,000 hp Hennessey Exorcist.

Based on the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, this super muscle car is tuned by performance specialist, Hennessey Performance. The Camaro’s V8 mill has undergone heavy upgrades which includes fitting a larger, higher flowing supercharger and intercooler system, improved induction system, and engine management remapping.

This pushes the V8 to crank out 1,000 hp and 1,310 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a choice of either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic.

A century sprint is done and dusted in less than three seconds, and a quarter-mile drag race is completed in under 10 seconds. Top speed is not mentioned, but with such ludicrous performance, this Exorcist can easily hit more than 320 km/h.

In the US, the Exorcist can be purchased via Hennessey or directly from Chevrolet dealers. Existing ZL1 owners can convert their cars to become a Hennessey Exorcist for a fee of $55,000 (approximate RM244k), with the standard ZL1 begins at $61,140 (approximate RM271k).
