Powering the City RS is a completely different powertrain from the 1.5 S, E and V variants. The Hybrid powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre engine that makes 98 hp and 127 Nm, aided by an electric motor which will primarily drive the car while the engine will be used as a starter/generator. The electric motor makes 109 hp and 253 Nm.

Specific items that make the RS stand out from the rest of the City variants include:

  • 16-inch wheels
  • rear disc brakes
  • black front grille
  • RS front lip
  • RS rear boot spoiler
  • black mirror covers
  • rear diffuser
  • RS instrument panel
  • electronic parking brake

The rest of the City variants come with drum brakes at the back and the conventional hand brake lever. The purely petrol-powered City variants come with a 1.5-litre engine making 121 hp and 145 Nm.

The City RS will also come with the Honda Sensing driver assistance system which includes features like:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Auto High-Beam (AHB)

Following the launch of the Honda Connect application, Honda Malaysia also announced that the City RS will be the first Honda model to feature the connected service.

The Honda Connect App essentially allows you to track your vehicle and monitor its parameters, such as fuel level and service intervals. It even comes with an Automatic Collision Detection System which will notify Honda’s 24 hours Roadside Assist centre in the event of a collision of when an airbag is deployed. Emergency services will then be dispatched immediately.
