Mitsubishi Xpander pricing announced for Malaysia – RM91k!

Ahead of its official launch, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has now unveiled the pricing for the highly-awaited Xpander seven-seater crossover. The Mitsubishi Xpander is priced at RM91,369 on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the sales tax exemptions – which the seven-seater crossover sees a 100% reduction in sales tax (SST), as it is assembled locally in Pekan.

At launch, the Mitsubishi Xpander will only be offered in a single variant in Malaysia, though it is among the best-equipped in the ASEAN region, thanks to a couple of exclusive standard equipment that has been introduced by MMM. These include a 360-degree around view monitor, front dashcam, as well as the diamond-quilted black leather seats, which are not available from the factory in other regions.

The Mitsubishi Xpander also arrives in Malaysia in the facelifted form, as indicated from the updated LED headlights and U-shaped louvres on the grille. Other exterior highlights include LED taillights, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Underneath the hood is a 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine, capable of generating 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The naturally-aspirated powertrain sends power to the front axle via a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Inside, the Malaysian market Mitsubishi Xpander is equipped with a nine-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity – making it one of the few models on sale in Malaysia under RM100k to be equipped with these features – paired to an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-info display, rear roof-mounted air vents, and keyless entry with push-start.

Since bookings for the Mitsubishi Xpander started two weeks ago, MMM says that it has already received over 2,000 bookings to date. The seven-seater crossover will be available for viewing and test drives in Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide starting 20 November.

MMM Chief Executive Officer, Tomoyuki Shinnishi said, “Mitsubishi Motors would like to thank all its customers for showing overwhelming interest in the new Mitsubishi Xpander. We will try our utmost effort on production to honour these early bird customers as much as possible.”

Once again, Pricing for the Mitsubishi Xpander in Malaysia is set at RM91,369 on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the SST exemptions, which means that the Xpander undercuts its key rival – the Honda BR-V – by approximately RM2,000 based on the pricing of the range-topping V variant. Included in the price is a five-year/unlimited mileage standard Mitsubishi warranty.
