Video: G20 BMW 330e M Sport PHEV plug-in hybrid, 5 Things

BMW Malaysia has gone full swing with its 3 series range in Malaysia. The line-up is now made up of the 320i M Sport, 330i M Sport, the M340i xDrive and now this, the 330e M Sport PHEV priced at RM264,613.

Right off the bat, the 330e M Sport will have 252 hp and 420 Nm to play with, and is good for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds. However, if you activate the XtraBoost feature, you’d momentarily have 292 hp at your disposal!

This makes the 330e M Sport the second most powerful 3 series available in Malaysia behind the newly launched M340i xDrive with 387 hp and 500 Nm! The petrol-powered 330i M Sport makes 258 hp and 400 Nm, while the 320i M Sport makes 184 hp and 300 Nm.

Accompanying the M Sport body kit similar to the one seen in the locally-assembled 330i M Sport, is the adaptive M Suspension and M Sport brakes. The 330e M Sport even comes with a hands-free powered tailgate.

Inside, the M Sport package brings about sportier seats, M specific pedals, M leather steering wheel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display supported by the latest BMW Operating System 7. Apple CarPlay will be available but on a subscription basis. Come on, BMW.

Long before the 330e M Sport arrived in Malaysia, we were sent to Munich, Germany for a test drive of the same car. Suffice to say, it was as refined as a 3 series can be, it drives really well despite its additional weight, with noticeably more refinement when transitioning between the electric motor and petrol-powered engine.
