Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the 2020 C200 AMG Line priced at RM251,587 on-the-road without insurance. The updated C200 AMG Line will replace the previous 1.5-litre EQ Boost Hybrid facelift model introduced at the end of 2018.
Under the hood now is a 2.0L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine making 204 hp and 300 Nm and is paired to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.1 seconds, onwards to 250 km/h. Compared to the G20 320i Sport launched last year, the C200 makes 20 hp more with the same amount of torque and interestingly, with the same 0 to 100 km/h time.
The exterior of the 2020 C200 bears plenty of resemblance to the model it replaces. You get the same radiator grille design, while front and rear bumpers resemble the C300 from the facelift model. As for the 18-inch wheels, it’s the same design found in the A Class sedan launched in June last year. Still, it’s a huge step up from the C200 AMG Line we had back in 2018.
Inside, the dashboard and centre console sports the same interior design from before, unlike the new A-Class that comes with a single strip for the air con controls. Among the notable items on board include a Nappa leather wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, a 12.3 infotainment display, a 10.25 digital instrument cluster, roller sun blinds for the rear windows and open pore Oak wood trims.
In keeping with the times, the C200 AMG Line gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and two USB ports at the rear. Also available is the Mercedes me connect feature that allows one owner to register multiple Mercedes-Benz under one account to monitor various parameters of the car. Users of the connected car service can lock/unlock, start the car, monitor the car’s brake pad wear, fuel level and so on through the app.
As for safety, the 2020 C200 seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking and blind spot assist. With the EaseProtect Financing plan, the C200 AMG Line can be yours from RM2,988 per month. The figure is based on a 5-year tenure and downpayment of approximately 20%. It also comes with comprehensive motor insurance along with rim and tyre insurance for the first year of ownership.
