Sales Tax Exemption: Volvo revised price list announced – up to RM23K less



Volvo Car Malaysia has announced its revised price list in anticipation of the sales tax exemption period starting next Monday, from 15th June to 31st of December 2020. The sales tax exemption is announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as part of the government’s short-term economy recovery plan.

All prices listed above are without insurance, inclusive of excise duty and exclusive of sales tax.

As the entire Volvo line-up in Malaysia are assembled locally, all models are eligible for 100% sales tax exemption – including the recently-launched CKD S60 T8 R-Design, now available at RM282,540 (-4.5%). The XC90 T5 Momentum sees the largest price reduction at RM23,078, while the XC60 T5 Momentum gets the largest rebate in terms of percentage change (6.5%).

Volvo Car Malaysia Managing Director, Nalin Jain said: “We fully welcome the introduction of the sales tax holiday and are grateful for the opportunity to pass on the full benefits to our customers.  The incentive comes at an opportune time especially as the nation and the auto sector look towards recovery, onward from challenges brought on by the pause in business operations.

“The attention and support for the automotive sector in Malaysia has always been progressive and we believe that this decision will not only boost the economy but also provide relief and hope for Malaysians as we transition out of a challenging period to better times ahead together,” Jain added.

The company added that all ongoing promotions, such as the complimentary Recharge Package worth up to RM30,888, and 5 years maintenance service package (VSA 5+) are still applicable on selected models. The full list of current offers are available on VCM’s website here.
