Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has just launched the AMG 45 duo – the CLA 45 S 4MATIC and A 45 S 4MATIC+ – and without elaborating too much for now, they’ve already won our hearts.
Over the years, the A45 AMGs have stood out in very specific ways; they’re loud, they look brash and unapologetic but more importantly, they’re just stupidly fast and these future torch bearers of the AMG 45 series are no different.
Both the A 45 S and CLA 45 S makes 421 hp and 500 Nm, and while the A 45 S is capable of a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds, the CLA 45 AMG is just 0.1 second slower. The figure represents a 40 hp increase and a 25 Nm increase from before.
Among the on-board features include a Burmester Sound System, AMG Performance seats and steering wheel but the AMG Track Pace feature within the infotainment system has to be the most impressive.
The feature that works hand-in-hand with the MBUX operating system can display 80 vehicle-specific parameters, acceleration and lap times and more using GPS data.
Renowned international race circuits such as the Nürburgring in Germany or Spa Francorchamps in Belgium have been preset into the system. With the MBUX Augmented Reality, the ideal racing line of the preset race tracks can be displayed on the multimedia display or head-up display to help the driver improve on lap times. If drivers so wish, they can even record a new circuit!
