Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) today launched the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ on our shores in a digital premiere of the brand’s compact performance models, alongside the A 45 S and A 35 hatchback. Priced at RM448,888 (on the road without insurance), the CLA 45 S also marks the entry of the all-new CLA coupe in the country.
With MBM’s Agility Financing, the new CLA 45 S can be yours starting from RM5,355 a month. If you prefer more protection, the AMGPro Financing which includes insurance, unlimited mileage breakdown and accident towing, as well as tyre/rims replacement, starts at RM5,588 per month.
Similar to its hatchback cousin, powering the compact coupe is the “one man, one engine” M139 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, paired to an eight-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission. In terms of performance, you can expect:
- Horsepower: 421 hp @ 6,750 rpm
- Torque: 500 Nm @ 5,000 rpm
- 0 to 100 km/h: 4.0 seconds
- Top Speed: 270 km/h
As expected from an AMG model, the CLA 45 S comes with all the performance wizardry to ensure optimum performance both on track and on the roads. These include:
- fully-variable all-wheel drive system with AMG Torque Control, featuring Drift mode
- AMG Dynamic Select
- AMG Dynamics
- AMG Ride Control Suspension
The CLA 45 S is styled fittingly to its performance – air inlets and vents, power domes, diffusers and widened wheel arches are all present on the four-door performance coupe. Unlike the A 45, the CLA 45 S does not come with the Edition 1 package, which means the omission of the AMG Aerodynamic pack. Although, the following AMG-specific exterior kit are still standard equipment:
- AMG-specific Panamericana grille
- Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus
- 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels
- Red painted brake callipers
- Two twin-tailpipes
The aggressive appearance continues on the inside. AMG-specific goodies include:
- AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/Dinamica microfibre
- AMG steering wheel buttons
- AMG Performance seats
- designo seat belts in red
- AMG door sill panels with illuminated AMG lettering
- AMG floor mats
Otherwise, the interior takes on a similar look to the latest-generation of the A-Class, featuring the twin 10.25-inch displays as the instrument cluster and infotainment display. Other standard interior features are:

- AMG Track Pace virtual “race engineer”
- Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Burmester Surround Sound System
- 360 degrees camera

As for safety, the CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ comes equipped with the marque’s Driving Assistant Package, which includes the following features:
