Video: Hyundai i30 N Performance, 5 Things

As motoring journalists, nothing excites us more than the arrival of a new sports car, and especially one that’s been raved about so much by our international industry friends.

Perhaps the collective begging by all of us Malaysian motoring journalists was a little too much to handle for Hyundai Sime Darby Motor, as they’ve just brought the hottest kimchi onto our shores, the Hyundai i30 N Performance!

Underneath the hood of the Hyundai i30 N is a 2.0-litre turbocharged T-GDi engine, capable of pushing out 275 hp and 353 Nm of torque. The overboost function momentarily increases the torque output by 8%, up to 378 Nm.

The i30 N is only available with a six-speed manual transmission, though that shouldn’t be a problem for anyone looking to own this car. If you’re fast enough, you can even do 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.

The Korean hot hatch is priced at RM298,888, and only 20 units are available, exclusively through Lazada. Does it have what it takes to challenge that white Civic Type R?
