As part of a year-long celebration for the iconic bug, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is giving away a brand-new Beetle in its ‘Win the Icon’ Instagram contest!
The contest rides on Volkswagen’s tagline of “better experienced than explained”. In order to participate, just test drive a Volkswagen at any authorised dealerships and document your experience. Here are the detailed instructions:
Step 1: Test drive any Volkswagen model at authorised dealers
Step 2: Record a one-minute video of your experience and upload it on Instagram
Step 3: Complete the slogan “My #BetterExperiencedThanExplained story is…”
Step 4: Follow and tag @VolkswagenMalaysia in the post
Ensure that your Instagram profile is set to public, and you’re off to the races! The contest will run from 1st October to 30th November 2019, and is open to all Malaysians with a valid driver’s license.
The lucky winner will be announced in December, and will drive home in a new Volkswagen Beetle 1.2 TSI.
Production of the current Beetle has stopped globally and there will be no newer versions as Volkswagen shifts their focus towards the MEB electric car platform. There has been talks of bringing the Beetle back in EV form, but Volkswagen has not confirmed that.
As a farewell to the beloved ‘people’s car’, VPCM released the Volkswagen Beetle Collector’s Edition, the last variant of the Beetle limited to 75 units only.
