This is the last Volkswagen Beetle Collector’s Edition, RM164,390

The world will be bidding farewell to the iconic Volkswagen Beetle this year after over 22 million units sold globally, as the German automotive group shifts their focus onto electric mobility solutions. To commemorate and give the Beetle a send-off, local distributor Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has launched the final Volkswagen Beetle Collector’s Edition.

Based on the Beetle Sport 1.2-litre TSI, only 75 units of the Collector’s Edition will be made. Priced at RM164,390 (OTR without insurance), it gains exclusive accessories worth up to RM12,000 which includes a rear spoiler, centre racing stripes, chrome exhaust tips, aluminium sports pedals, scuff plates, VW Tint and a plaque signifying its production number of the 75 units.

Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter

There are no changes to the mechanicals, continuing on with the 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder TSI mill and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch generating 105 hp and 175 Nm to drive the front wheels. Other items on the equipment list include Bi-xenon headlamps with LDE daytime running lights, paddle shifters, 16-inch “Whirl” alloy wheels, 6.5-inch Composition Media touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-speakers and “Vienna” leather seats.

There are four colours available for the special edition Beetle which are Blue Silk, Pure White, Hanabero Orange and Tornado Red. Every purchase also comes with a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage, 3-Years Free Scheduled Maintenance and 5-Years Roadside Assistance.

Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter said that the Collector’s Edition Beetle is a celebration of the amazing run the Beetle has had. “All good things must come to an end, and it is the same with this global bestseller. The Beetle has enjoyed a rich history – in Malaysia it is one that dates to when it was assembled in Shah Alam in 1968.  In fact, most Malaysians grew up with a connection to the much-loved car.”
