With the launch of the 2019 Proton Saga Facelift, Proton’s core models, the Persona, Iriz, Exora and Saga – conveniently abbreviated to PIES – are now updated to maintain a competitive edge in their respective segment.
The Saga gains various styling upgrades, new features and most importantly a new 4-speed torque converter automatic that replaces the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The new gearbox is mated to the same 1.3-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder VVT petrol engine pushing out 95 hp and 120 Nm of torque.
What’s even more impressive is that despite the increased in value (features, refinement and quality), the 2019 Saga range is more affordable with prices dipping under the magic RM40,000 mark.
