Video: First impressions of the new Lexus NX 300 – AutoVlog

Lexus has just introduced the new NX 300 (which replaces the NX 200t) where it will be available in three variants – the Urban, Premium and the F-Sport, with prices starting from RM313,888 to RM349,888.

Aesthetically, the new NX 300 gets redesigned headlamps and tail lights, a new Blazing Carnelian colour and the highly sort after sequential turn indicators. In keeping up with the times, it also gets a hands-free boot access feature.

The engine is similar to the 2.0-litre turbocharged unit you’d find in the Harrier Turbo that’s officially imported by UMW Toyota, making 235 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

Power is transferred to all four wheels via the Dynamic Torque Control AWD System and 6-speed automatic gearbox, where 0 to 100 km/h takes a brisk 7.1 seconds onward to a reasonable top speed of 200 km/h.

The main highlight of the new Lexus NX 300 has to be the addition of the Lexus Safety System on all variants. The system includes Pre-Collision System with Brake Collision Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, Active Cornering Assist and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

While all three models are equipped with eight airbags, the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert is only available for the Premium model.

Also new to the car is the Adaptive High Beam system for the three LED projector headlamps, along with the addition of the dynamic indicator that utilises 16 LEDS to project a mesmerising visual.
