As you’re aware by now, Lexus Malaysia has introduced the all-new NX SUV in Malaysia in two variants. We’ve previously shared a gallery of pictures of the more powerful, more expensive NX350 F Sport, so here’s the more subtle and subdued NX250 Luxury.

For starters, the NX250 Luxury is priced at RM370,888 on the road without insurance and excludes Sales Tax Exemption that’s set to end by the end of June.

Unlike the more powerful NX350 F Sport, you don’t get a turbocharged engine. Instead, the NX250 Luxury is fitted with a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 204 hp and 243 Nm. Like the NX350 F Sport, it also gets an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 200 km/h top speed, and all-wheel drive. The NX250 Luxury is slower from 0 to 100 km/h, taking 9.1 seconds compared to seven seconds in the NX350 F Sport.

The NX350 F Sport gets a more sophisticated all-wheel drive system that can distribute power between the front and rear wheels up to 75:25 for efficiency or 50:50 for better traction. The NX250 Luxury also doesn’t come with adaptive suspension, a feature reserved only for the NX350.

The finishing touches on the exterior of the NX250 and NX350 are also vastly different. The NX250 Luxury projects a more subtle look with less sporty front and rear bumpers, chrome trims instead of blacked-out ones in the F Sport, and a more subdued Spindle grille design. Both come with 20-inch wheels, albeit different designs. Both are fitted with a hands-free powered tailgate.

Inside, the NX250 comes with standard seats unlike the sport seats in the NX350 F Sport. The NX250 Luxury also gets open-pore ash wood door trims instead of aluminium trims in the F Sport. The NX250 Luxury stands out from the F Sport variant with power-folding rear seats, whereas the latter only comes with manual folding. The NX250 also comes with lesser front seat adjustments.

As for the rest of the cabin, both variants share identical features. They include a 14-inch widescreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, shift paddles, digital meter, 64-colour ambient lighting, 10-speaker Lexus Premium Audio system with subwoofer, wireless charging, a head-up display, and four USB ports. Like the NX350 F Sport, the NX250 Luxury is also equipped with the full suite of Lexus Safety System+ features.
