Lexus LC Convertible is becoming a reality, to debut at Goodwood

Remember the jaw-dropping Lexus LC Convertible Concept awhile ago? That roofless LC that just oozes desirability? It seems that Lexus is looking to present a production version at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed happening in July.

According to Roadshow, the production version of the LC Convertible was hinted when the concept first debuted at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. The overwhelming interest from the public gave the company the confidence it needed to give the final green light for the project.

Naturally aspirated V8 soundtrack amplified

To date, we have not seen the LC Convertible with the roof up. It is yet to be seen whether the production version will be covered with a hard top or a fabric soft top – although the latter is more likely given the limited space of the LC’s architecture.

Expect the LC Convertible to be powered by the glorious 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 with 470 hp and 540 Nm of torque as on the LC 500. A hybrid option with the Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System should also be offered. That uses a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 and an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 354 hp.
