Getting fuel for your car from a tanker is probably one of the ideas petroleum companies thought of but never got to implementing. After all, there are numerous scenarios where this service can come in handy. Enter the ROVR, Malaysia’s first mobile refueling service.
Petronas, through their retail arm Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB), have been running a pilot programme for commercial customers (imagine it being deployed at a depot housing a fleet of buses or lorries) since October 2018, delivering over 1 million litres of fuel, and they are ready to roll out to B2B customers nationwide.
“At PDB, we invest heavily in understanding the customer journey and we address the frictions in their daily lives by offering progressive solutions. ROVR provides a new refuelling experience, and we are excited to have our customers be the first in Malaysia to experience this. We have received positive feedback from our B2B customers and we are ready to cater to more. We want our customers to move like never before as we continue to deliver a seamless and frictionless customer experience,” said Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin, MD and CEO of PDB.
ROVR fuel trucks are certified for fuel delivery and dispensing, adhering to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements stipulated by national regulatory bodies. All ROVR trucks are also equipped with sensors to monitor vital information and to maintain operational safety. ROVR’s current fleet includes a 4,000-liter and three 11,000-liter capacity trucks for commercial customers, with a 3,000-liter capacity truck for end-consumers at a later stage. PDB will expand ROVR services nationwide and set up more refueling sites by the end of this year.
