Having tested it in Spartanburg, USA, BMW Malaysia has officially launched the second-generation G02 BMW X4 in Malaysia alongside the hot X2 M35i and the G05 X5 xDrive40i.
The X4 is offered in a sole xDrive30i M Sport variant, buyers will have to part with RM380,000 (OTR without insurance) for one and is available for purchase at all BMW showrooms nationwide.

The G02 X4 rides on the brand’s new Cluster Architecture platform that cuts the weight by 50 kg but at the same time grown in every dimension. With the M Sport kit, the X4 is dressed the M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual high-gloss shadow line, M Sport brakes with blue calipers, twin exhaust outlets and 20-inch M light alloy wheels Double-spoke style 699 M with 245/45 tyres front while the rears are shod in 275/40 profile rubbers.
Stepping inside, the X4 is furnished with top grade materials and equipment including 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, 10.25-inch BMW Navigation Professional infotainment system linked to a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, tri-zone climate control, Heads Up Display, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and Vernasca Leather upholstery.
Under the hood rests a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit paired to an 8-speed Sports automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive. Century sprint takes 6.3 seconds while top speed is registered at 240 km/h.
Unfortunately, the X4 doesn’t come with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like the locally assembled Mercedes-Benz GLC 250 Coupe that was launched recently. However, the Beemer does carry a lower price tag than the Merc.
