Annyeonghaseyo Hyundai Santa Fe, 4 variants from RM169k



Previewed at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS), Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors (HSDM) has now officially launched the fourth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe to the local market.

There are four variants available for the new 7-seater SUV split between 2 powertrain options – the 2.4L MPI petrol Executive and Premium as well as the 2.2L CRDi turbodiesel Executive and Premium. Prices start from RM169,888 for the entry-level 2.4L Executive, climbing to RM211,888 for the range-topping 2.2L CRDi Premium.

The executive variants come equipped with projector halogen headlamps with LED daytime running lights and dynamic bending lights function, halogen units for the front headlamps and taillamps, 18-inch alloys wrapped in 235/60 profile rubbers and roof rails.

Stepping up to the Premium variants you’ll get upgraded to LED units for the headlamps, taillamps, front and rear fog lamps as well as 19-inch alloys shod with 235/55 profile tyres. Distinguishing the petrol and diesel variants are the exhaust outlet (single exit for petrol, dual exits for diesel) and 2.2CRDi badging found on the rear.

The cabin is well furnished with the Executive variants featuring black leather upholstery, 10-way powered driver seats, smart keyless entry and start, electronic parking brake, analogue instrument cluster with 3.5-inch TFT LCD display, dual-zone automatic climate control, electronically folding middle row seats and 7.0-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The RM20,000 difference is spent on the additional Burgundy option for the upholstery (Black still available), 8-way powered passenger seat, leather dashboard trim, Deluxe cloth or Suede headliner, 7.0-inch Supervision LCD info display (analogue dials for the rev counter, temperature and fuel gauge), Qi wireless charging tray, rain sensor wipers and powered tailgate.

Under the hood, you’ll find either a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder MPI petrol engine making 172 hp and 225 Nm or a 2.2-litre turbodiesel CRDi unit developing 193 hp and 440 Nm of torque. The MPI unit is paired to a 6-speed automatic to drive the front wheels while the CRDi gets the 8-speeder and all-wheel-drive.

As standard, all variants of the Santa Fe get six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) and Downhill Brake Control (DBC). On the Premium variants, it adds Rear Occupant Alert, Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BSCW) and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW). Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance systems were given a miss for the local-spec Santa Fe.

There are six available colours for the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe – White Cream, Typhoon Silver, Stormy Sea, Rain Forest, Earthy Bronze and Phantom Black. Every purchase is also covered with a 5-Years or 300,00 km Warranty and a 3-Years/50,000 km Free Scheduled Service.
