Earlier in the year, Bermaz Motor previewed their next model launch, the Mazda CX-8 and the company is inviting interested parties to check out the new SUV in the metal at the 2019 Malaysia Auto Show happening from 11th to 14th of April.
Because this is merely a preview exercise, the car on display is not the final specification for the Malaysian market. Bermaz Motor did confirm that the CX-8 will be locally-assembled from launch.
The CX-8 is available in both 2-3-2 and 2-2-2 seating arrangements but it is likely that the local market will receive the seven-seater option. Powertrain options include a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder SkyActiv-G petrol engine with 192 hp and 257 Nm as well as a 2.2-litre SkyActiv-D turbodiesel with 187 hp and 450 Nm.
Both engines are paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission while the all-wheel-drive system is exclusive to the diesel variant.
