The said unit was delivered to Malaysian law firm Lee Allen Hishammuddin & Gledhill (LHAG), as Proton’s first SUV broke all previous records for delivery numbers in its segment.
Charting a cumulative 42% sales growth for the first two months of 2019, Proton also achieved the highest sales growth rate among the Top 3 automotive brands in Malaysia.
The 8,500th Proton X70 is only one of six units ordered by LHAG for their corporate fleet.
“PROTON is delighted that LHAG, our long-term corporate partner, has chosen to add the Proton X70 to its fleet. First impressions are important in the business world so we are proud our SUV will represent the firm at business meetings and events,” said Dr Li Chunrong.
In other related news, a convoy of nine Proton X70s and their respective owners have just returned from a round trip to Hangzhou, China, where they were treated to a tour of the Geely Experience Centre.
On average, the convoy travelled 400 km a day throughout the 33-day road trip, covering four countries and 13 major cities.
