If a 6.0L W12 is too much to handle, you go for the Bentley Continental GT V8

Bentley has just unveiled a new V8 version of its third-generation Bentley Continental GT and GT Convertible. The new eight-cylinder option promises a more agile character from the luxury Grand Tourer.

Both V8 models are powered by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 pushing out 550 hp and 770 Nm of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. An active all-wheel drive is fitted as standard where the system will be predominantly rear-wheel driven for optional efficiency and dynamic performance.

Century sprint takes 4.0 seconds on the coupe while the convertible gets to the 100 km/h mark in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is capped at 318 km/h on both variants. As a reference, the W12 powered Continental GT coupe takes 3.7 seconds to make the century sprint and has a claimed top speed of 333 km/h.

The Continental GT V8 can be distinguished by its quad exhaust, 20-inch, 10-spoke painted alloy wheels and V8 badging on the front fenders. Otherwise equipment levels are identical to the W12 from the cut-crystal Matrix LED headlamps, 48-volt Dynamic Ride System, 10-speaker Bentley Audio system, 12.3-inch touchscreen Bentley Rotating Display and more.
