Proton’s next model offensive following the highly successful X70 is the Proton Iriz and Persona, the national carmaker’s B-Segment contenders. We had the opportunity to sample the 2019 Persona facelift before it makes it official debut.
Proton claims that they have improved 303 items in the 2019 Persona which promises improved NVH levels, braking performance, fuel consumption and build quality. The biggest change in the Persona has to be the revised styling and more responsive (and refined) powertrain.
There will be four variants of the Persona available with a 5-speed manual option for the entry-level Standard variant while the rest of the range gets a Punch-sourced CVT. They all feature the same 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine making 109 hp and 150 Nm driving the front wheels.
