After a quiet 2018, the Audi brand is back with a bang. Simultaneously launching three new models – Q2, Q5 and Q8 to the Malaysian market. The new Audi Q2 1.4 TFSI is now the most affordable car in Audi’s 2019 model range priced at RM219,900, on-the-road without insurance.
While the Q2 is new to Malaysian roads, the baby SUV actually made its global debut back in 2016 Geneva International Motor Show. Hey, better late than never eh?

Visually, the Q2 is unmistakeably from the “Q” family with Singleframe grille, sleek LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED combination taillamps with dynamic turn signal, 17-inch 5-arm star style alloy wheels wrapped in 215/55 profile rubbers.
The Q2 sports an edgier look with silver bits around the front lower bumpers, C-pillars and rear lower apron.
Despite not equipped with the S-Line trim, the cabin of the local spec Q2 is still have plenty of sporty touches such as leather & leatherette combination Sport Seats and Red Anodized painted inlays. Other amenities include multifunctional steering wheel, 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit, MMI navigation plus with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10-speaker Audi Sound System, electronic parking brake, keyless entry and start and automatic climate control.
Interestingly, you don’t get paddle shifters, rear air vents nor powered tailgate in the Q2.
Under the hood you’ll find a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder TFSI engine packing 150 hp and 250 Nm of twist. The engine is mated to a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission to drive the front wheels. Century sprint is done in 8.5 seconds and the Q2 1.4 TFSI will continue to accelerate to 212 km/h.
Safety kit is modest, with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and ISOFIX mounting points.
Audi offers the Q2 in six exterior shades – Tango Red, Ara Blue, Vegas Yellow, Glacier White, Coral Orange or in an Audi Exclusive shade of Green. Every purchase of the Audi Q2 comes with a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty.
