Having tested the highest spec, 2WD Premium variant of the Proton X70, this time around Adrian explored the other end of the X70 spectrum, in the form of a standard 2WD model during his recent trip with Proton to Langkawi.
In the video, Adrian examines just how different both the high spec and base model X70s are, in terms of equipment and refinement, and if you’re significantly shortchanged for a price difference of about RM20,000.
The arrival of the Proton X70 just before the turn of the new year had set the local SUV scene (literally) on fire. With over 2,000 units delivered, bookings are off the charts with over 15,000 orders made.
Over 57% of the X70’s buyers have opted for the range-topping Premium 2WD model, with 67% being from the 40 years and above age group.
Just yesterday, Proton, a group of 33 participant/owners and nine X70s set out for an epic roadtrip from Malaysia to Hangzhou, China (yes, China!) to check out the Geely Experience Centre in a 33-day, 13,000 km journey across 13 cities in four countries.
How cool is that?!
