Polestar 2 set for global premiere, Tesla Model 3 rival

After releasing a teaser image on the brand’s official Twitter account, Polestar is ready to unveil the Polestar 2 in all its glory on 27 February 2019. The car will proceed to make its first public appearance at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show happening in March.

Details of Polestar’s second car is scarce, but we know that unlike the Polestar 1 high-performance hybrid coupe, the Polestar 2 will be a four-door compact electric saloon that aims squarely at the Tesla Model 3.

Reports have quoted that the Polestar 2 will command over 400 hp with over 450 km of driving range. If Polestar were to take the fight to Tesla, their new electric vehicle will have to beat or at least match the Model 3’s sub 6 seconds century sprint time and over 200 km/h top speed.

The Polestar 2 will be built in Chengdu, China at the company’s dedicated production facility alongside the Volvo manufacturing plant.
