Following the announcement of the return of Sales and Services Tax (SST) in September, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also announce that the rakyat will receive 50 percent discount on all tolled roads across the country for two days before Hari Raya.
Come June 13 and 14 (Wednesday & Thursday), Malaysians will enjoy half price on their toll fares while travelling back for the festive season. Without revealing any further details, it is unclear whether the toll discount is offered on behalf of the Pakatan Harapan Government or the toll concessionaires themselves.
Traditionally, only major toll concessionaries offered a discount on toll fares on days leading to or during festive seasons. It remains to be seen whether toll operators will extend the discounted fares to more days throughout Hari Raya.
