50 owners take delivery of their new Toyota C-HR, CBU priced at RM145k



The Toyota C-HR is now officially on sale in Malaysia and to celebrate the occasion, UMW Toyota (UMWT) has organised a massive collection party for the first 50 owners of the quirky SUV.

As reported earlier, the C-HR is available in a sole 1.8L variant, priced at RM145,500 on-the-road sans insurance. Under the hood you’ll find a  1.8-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder that develops 138 hp and 171 Nm of torque,  paired to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) to drive the front wheels.

The C-HR, which stands for Coupe High-Rider, sits on the brand’s new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that promises superior driving pleasure, comfort and safety. Key dimensions measures at 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, 1,565 mm in height and 2,640 mm in wheelbase Boot space is also at a respectable 377 litres.

Penned with Toyota’s ‘Keen Look’ design language, the C-HR boasts an expressive diamond architecture body lines, giving it the confident and sporty look. Forward illumination is tasked by a pair of halogen projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps while the rear gets boomerang-shaped LED combination lamps with fog lamps.

Other touches include puddle lamps, shark fin antenna, hidden rear door handles and a set of 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 profile tyres.

The interior styling embodies Toyota’s new ‘Sensual Tech’ design concept aimed to create a high-tech but sensual and fashionable cabin. Standard equipment on our local spec C-HR includes leather upholstery, three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, manual levelling seats, keyless entry and start, 7-inch DVD-AVX touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera, six speakers, dual-zone automatic climate control, electrochromic rear-view mirror and electronic parking brake.

On the safety front, the C-HR comes equipped with seven airbags, Traction Control, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Hill-Start Assist Control, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, front and rear parking sensors and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Customers can choose between five colours – White Pearl CS, Metal Stream Metallic, Attitude Black Mica while Blue Metallic and Red Mica are the only options that come with black roof and mirrors. Unlike the parallel imported units from MyMotor, these officially imported (from Thailand) Toyota C-HRs are backed by a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty package, straight from UMWT themselves.
