Toyota GT 86 GT Limited Black Package for Japan, refined handling and cosmetic upgrades

Toyota has just added a new variant to the GT 86 line up called the GT Limited Black Package. It gets minor revision to its handling, exterior finish and interior design. Unfortunately, the enhanced GT 86 did not get any power bump.

The entire GT 86 range now benefits from a retuned suspension that gives the car a more rigid and direct steering feel. It however, remains powered by a 2.0-litre direct-injection boxer-engine that outputs 197 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear-wheels via a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

On the GT Limited Black Package, it gets a Solid Grey paintjob with black contrasted side mirrors and rear spoiler. Brembo red-painted callipers comes as standard on this variant but lower-grade variants can have them as an option. It rides on a set of exclusive 17-inch 10-spoke aluminium alloys wrapped in 215/45 profile tyre.

Inside, manual variants of the GT Limited Black Package get fine-leather wrapped GT “Limited” branded shift knob for better grip and texture. Two-tone interior (Red on Black) is standard fitment. Order books for the limited production GT 86 are now open with an asking price of ¥3.3 million (RM125k) for the manual-equipped model. Production will commence in February 2018 and will be produced in limited numbers only.
