Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe launched in Malaysia, 2.0L turbo, RM309k!

At long last, one of Infiniti’s sexiest cars in has finally made its way to Malaysia, the all-new Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe. The only available variant is the 2.0-litre turbo, and at RM308,800, Infiniti Malaysia threw in a spanking 7-year unlimited mileage warranty for good measure.

It’s undoubtedly a good looker; tautly muscular from the sides and alluringly sultry from just about any angle. The Infiniti Q60 gets full LED headlamps, 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels (shod with 255/40 run-flat tyres), acoustic windshield glass, Active Noise Cancellation and six airbags as standard. As part of Infiniti’s efforts to meet new global safety standards, the hood automatically pops up to cushion pedestrian impact.2016 Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe - AutoBuzz.my

Previously, the Q60 Coupe (or G37) was sold at RM411k, which makes this sexier successor over RM100k cheaper than before! That doesn’t mean the Q60 is less equipped, though. Inside, items like 13-inch Bose Performance Series sound system, dual touchscreen displays in the centre dash (upper unit 8-inch, lower unit 7-inch) and leather upholstered seats with Infiniti’s ‘spinal support’ technology are all standard issue.2016 Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe - AutoBuzz.my

As for the oily bits, the engine is sourced from Mercedes-Benz, with four cylinders displacing 2.0-litres. It’s turbocharged to churn a healthy 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque, all of which are sent to the rear wheels via an in-house seven-speed intelligent automatic transmission. Through Drive Mode Selector (DMS), drivers can choose between four options: Standard, Sport, Personal and Snow.

The transmission features Adaptive Shift Control which uses multiple sensors to detect driving behaviour as well as study your surrounding topography, such as hills or corners. It will then adapt shift speeds according to the driver’s needs. There’s even this feature called Active Sound Enhancement that pipes some of that throaty exhaust note into the cabin for a sportier feel.

Again, pricing for the all-new Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe starts from RM308,800 and it is fully imported from Japan. To those of you who are interested, test drives can be scheduled from 7 May 2017 onwards. And yes, you can have it in the glorious Dynamic Sunstone Red, which is one of five exterior colours on offer.
