Mercedes-Benz G-Class designer editions are back, because why not?

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) started off life by serving the military before the elites decided to have their way with it. Take that a notch further and you get these: the Designo Manufaktur Edition and Exclusive Edition.

The Designo Manufaktur Edition makes a comeback due to popular demand. Available for the G 350 d and G 500 variants, it gains three unique exterior hues – Designo Magma Red, Designo Mystic White and Obsidian Black. Items such as 19-inch five-spoke wheels in dark finishing with Obsidian Black trimmings for the radiator grille, exterior mirrors and wheel cover all contribute to making a statement.

The interior is wrapped with black Designo Nappa leather with colour-coordinated red topstitching. The similar red and black theme is found on the AMG Performance steering wheel, while black design piano lacquer provides a glossy contrast. It comes with the “Designo Manufaktur Edition” badge on the dashboard, of course. Also included as standard are Mercedes’s Exclusive Package, Sport Package, and Chrome Package.

The “Exclusive Edition” meanwhile is only offered for the G63 and G65 AMG models, which means it receives exterior enhancements from the famed Affalterbach tuners. It gets AMG side stripes, 21-inch AMG wheels and the signature Monza Grey Magno paint finish. The interior can be had with the “Designo Exclusive Package” which comes finished with two-tone leather upholstery and sport seats.

These exclusive G-Wagons will be available starting September 2017, but they most likely won’t be introduced to our market.
