First McLaren 720S rolls out of factory, company to launch 14 models by 2022!

McLaren Automotive has just entered a new chapter in their automotive history with the completion of the first production model 720S. As the second-generation Super Series and the first replacement model since the company’s inception in 2010, the 720S is truly a significant milestone for the British marque.

The previous-gen P11 Super Series. Which is your favourite?

Hand-assembled by McLaren’s craftsmen and craftswomen, the first 720S to roll out of the McLaren Production Centre is finished in Glacier White – an Elite colour on McLaren’s colour palette. Compared to its predecessor, the 720S packs a new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 710 hp (720 ps) and 770 Nm. Key performance figures are 2.8 seconds century sprint time, 0 to 200 km/h in 7.8 seconds and top speed of 341 km/h.

The 720S is also the first of 15 new McLaren models to come by the end of 2022 under the company’s Track22 business plan. That may seem a tall order but to put things into perspective, in a span of six years (2010 to 2016), the company has rolled out no less than 12 models (Coupe, Spider, non-road legal variants and derivatives included). Can’t wait to see what McLaren have in store for us!
