McLaren brings the papaya formula to the road with the limited Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition

Papaya fans rejoice. To celebrate McLaren’s 10th Constructors’ Championship and Lando Norris’s historic maiden title, Woking has revealed the ultimate winners’ trophy in the form of the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition.

Chances are, though, that you and I will never see any of these, ever. Only 10 of these special Artura Spiders are being built, each curated by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) as a road-going tribute to the MCL39 F1 car that dominated the 2025 season.

The hand-painted livery blends MSO Bespoke Myan Orange with Onyx Black. The standout detail is the ‘10’ motif on the bodywork, featuring ten stars and the outlines of every legendary McLaren Grand Prix car to secure a Constructors’ title.

On the outside, the Artura is blacked out with the Black Pack and 10-spoke Super-Lightweight Dynamo Forged Alloy Wheels. These are paired with Myan Orange brake callipers, the Stealth Badge Pack and a crackling Sports Exhaust with a Stealth finisher.

The real “F1” features are inside, as the satin carbon fibre sill finishers are actually hand-signed by drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri! To keep track the team’s dominance, a custom record plaque is tucked in the luggage compartment, documenting every win, pole and fastest lap from the 2025 season. Each of the ten owners will also take home a hyper-exclusive 2025 constructors’ championship keepsake to complete the set.

Those hoping to get a taste of the 1.6-litre turbocharged F1 V6 engine found in the MCL39 will be disappointed – but at least the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition is still powered by a hybrid powertrain, headlined by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6, producing 700 hp and 720 Nm.

This is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.0 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 305 km/h.

So, how much for this one-of-a-kind McLaren Artura? Woking has not revealed official pricing, but it is a safe bet that the cost will sit significantly higher than the RM3.4 million price tag of the standard car, considering the bespoke features offered by the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition. Regardless, prospective owners will have to act fast because there are only 10 of these cars in existence.
