2017 Volvo XC60 teased, to be fully unveiled in less than a week!

Nine years ago (that’s 2008 for those counting fingers) was when the first generation XC60 made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Fast forward today, Gothenburg is set to unveil in full glory the 2017 Volvo XC60, a mid-size SUV that will take on the likes of Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3.

The formula here is about the same as the hugely successful XC90, so expect jaw-dropping exterior and interior design. Up front lies the signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED DRLs that are adjoined with the grille. The rear end also gets the familiar LED-bar finish.

It will sit on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) and be powered by a range of Drive-E petrol and diesel engines. It’s worth noting that the platform can support a full hybrid system, but it remains to be seen whether the XC60 will get a range topping T8 Twin Engine variant.

Back home, the outgoing XC60 can be had in two trims – T5 turbo and the twin-charged T6, with pricing starting from RM267,088.00 to RM299,099.00.

At Volvo, there’s a lot to look forward to, and the new XC60 will surely be a blockbuster hit. Find out why in our special feature here.
