To commemorate the grand opening of Bentley Kuala Lumpur’s new flagship showroom at Etiqa Twins, Wearnes Quest Sdn Bhd has introduced the highly bespoke Bentley Continental GT Speed – Black Speed by Mulliner.
Based on the Continental GT Speed, the Black Speed edition is exclusively available for the South East Asia and Australasia market and this example pictured here is one of only 20 units available, ever. If you’re in the market for a unique Continental GT, rest assured you’ll be the only one in Malaysia to own a Black Speed edition.
To tell the Black Speed apart from the regular GT Speed are the gloss red body kit, matrix surround as well as dark tints on the headlamps and tail lamps. The biggest giveaway would be the “BLACK SPEED” badges on the front wheel arches.
The interior gets much more attention from the Mulliner designers. Apart from the contrasting red and black interior theme, the upholstery is finished in the highest quality leather and aluminium (with carbon fibre-esque weave). Other unique attributes include the Continental GT3-R inspired 12 o’ clock red stitching at the steering wheel and “BLACK SPEED” embroidery for the head restraints.
Mechanically, the 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 engine remains untouched. It’s still a beastly lump, churning 633 hp and 840 Nm of torque to move this 2,500 kg mammoth. Despite its weight, it will go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 330 km/h.
Bentley Kuala Lumpur has indicated that this limited edition Continental GT Speed – Black Speed by Mulliner starts from RM1,930,000, but we think those who are really interested won’t be deterred by its price. It’s the competition they’ve got to worry about. Who will Bentley KL sell it to?
