2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate unveiled, 612 hp, 0-100 in 3.5 secs!

Just after BMW revealed their gorgeous G30 5-Series Touring, Mercedes-AMG went ahead to steal the limelight by introducing the 2017 E 63 Estate.

It essentially shares the same recipe as the saloon-bodied E 63, and is available in a hotter E 63 S trim as well. Both are powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but the latter is tuned to produce more power. The company’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system is standard, and the sole nine-speed Speedshift dual clutch auto is also standard fitment.

The E 63’s V8 belts 571 hp and 750 Nm of torque, while the E 63 S pushes out a ludicrous 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque. The former sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds while the latter manages that in 3.5 seconds. Another feature this car comes with is “Drift” mode for some sideway fun. When AMG Driver’s Package is optioned, the electronically limited top speed will be lifted and the E 63 S will go on to hit 290km/h!

All that brute force comes hand in hand with practicality, because all that additional rear estate in the back gives it 630 litres of boot space. Fold the rear seats down and it expands to 1,820 litres!

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 Estate will make its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The E63 S estate has clearly cemented itself as the fastest production estate in the market, dethroning even the Audi RS6 Avant. Will we ever see the BMW M5 Touring come to life?
