Not too long ago, the Volvo XC90 T8 received a tuning package from Polestar. It was only a matter of time for Polestar – the performance division of Volvo – to grace the S90 and V90.
The performance package, called Polestar Performance Optimisation is introduced for the D5 PowerPulse diesel which increases the engine’s output from 235 hp and 480 Nm to 240 hp and 500 Nm while maintaining the same emission standards. The other variants will also benefit from the same upgrade sometime in the near future.
According to Polestar, this is not just a power upgrade. The overall drivetrain is optimised as well, from throttle response, gearshift and engine performance are all improved to provide the S90 and V90 a more dynamic edge.
All performance upgrades by Polestar will not affect the warranty, fuel consumption and service intervals of the car.
